Rules

Due to: the remote nature of the competition, competitor requests, and the desire to finish all round in the designated three day timeframe, some event rules have been modified specifically for Cloud Games.

In most situations, disciplines closely follow the USPA Skydiver Competition Manual.

Weather Rule

If a team is unable to finish their rounds due to weather (not by choice or personal time constraints), their score for remaining rounds = Average score for rounds completed - 10%. This still means the team’s best choice is to finish, but if they cannot jump, they won’t just get a 0 and lose significant ranking due to weather.

Example:
4-way FS team has completed 7 rounds with an average score of 10 points per round.
Significant weather rolls in on Sunday and they are unable to complete the remaining 3 rounds.
For rounds 8, 9, and 10 they will receive a score of 9 for each (10 point average - 10% penalty = 9 point).

Aircraft & Altitude

Any aircraft can be used.
Exit altitude used should be that listed in the competition manual or above. Working time will be the same.

Practice Jumps & Tunnel Time

No team should do practice jumps or tunnel time once the draw has been released until done with all competition jumps. Unrelated work or fun jumps are ok if your Meet Director confirms they are not and cannot be perceived as practice or discipline specific.

Tiebreaker

Due to different teams finishing across different timezones, there will be default be no tiebreaker rounds. The 2nd/3rd place rules from the SCM are used, where the team who has the highest scoring individual round will be determined as the winner. If both teams happen to be available when the tie is discovered and both teams WANT to do the tiebreaker round, they can.

Minimum License

The USPA lists minimum license requirements for each discipline. This is not considered or followed for Cloud Games.

Substitutions & Alternates

Substitutions are ok. If a competitor or videographer needs to be switched due to availability or injury during the competition, the Meet Director should inform Skydive Chicago of the swap, but no further action is needed. No alternates need to register online.

Sandbagging

Sandbagging rules still apply, not including the videographer. No team in any Advanced, Intermediate, or Beginner class may be composed of more than one quarter of members who have won a gold medal in that class, or any medal in a higher class of the same event at any USPA National Skydiving Championships, or in the same event at an FAI First Category Event, at any time in the prior five calendar years.
